You are likely wondering why I called my blog "Safe in Lovely Songs." You think I’m emo, right? Well, if you know where it comes from, Professor Brady is going to give you an A+ for being a music aficionado freak. (PS: it’s a brief line that LOU REED sings on the VELVET UNDERGROUND track "The Murder Mystery.") Which is awesome.

Anyway, in case you missed out on my bio, I’m currently a senior at NYU and a Big Takeover intern/writer. I also have recently started working at Ace Fu Records here in New York. Some may say I like to party a lot, but when you live in NYC, it’s inexcusable to not utilize what the city has to offer.At least once a week I’m going to give you guys some listings for cool parties, shows and events going on in New York City (or possibly elsewhere if my spies in other cities fill me in)…always feel free to let me know if you have any recommendations of your own…my blog will also just be a space for discussion of what’s worthy in the world of music, culture, etc. So keep checking back and getting your fill…
