Less Talk, More RAVE!

Hey! Welcome to my blog! This blog will mostly review live gigs, since I average about 2 per week. I'm currently a sophomore at Fordham University - Lincoln Center. I'm pretty young, (I am constantly reminded of this whenever I go to the mag to do my internship duties - I'm sorry I was negative 4 years old in 1982 and didn't get to go to that amazing gig at CBGB!!), and I don't pretend to know much about music pre 2000, but I'd like to believe that I'm knowledgeable about current music, and hopefully I can turn some people on to a bunch of new bands.

In case you were wondering, the title of my blog - Children Must Have Rock n Roll - is a line from the first song - "Strasbourg" - off THE RAKES' debut album, Capture/Release. I haven't stopped listening to this album since I got it a few months ago. They're from England -- you'll notice that a lot of my favorite bands/current obsessions are from England; that's because I'm an Anglophile. I plan on studying abroad in London next year, and I fully intend on reviewing gigs that take place...in London!!

I've been watching a lot of movies lately; both in theatres and on DVD/VHS, so I'll be writing about my current favorites in that field as well. In my next post I'll make a list of my top 10 from the past few weeks, with a brief synopsis of each!

That's all I've got for now. Please feel free to comment with your thoughts and your favorite bands, films, etc. I love learning about new bands and films as much as I love telling others about my little treasures, (a quick tease: BOY KILL BOY), so don't hold back!
