Secret Cameras are a London-based indie electro-rock band.In 2017, the four-piece released their debut EP, which was mixed by Dave Bascombe (Depeche Mode, Suede, Placebo).

Tracks from the EP gained airplay from UK radio tastemakers on stations including Radio X, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, BBC London, Amazing Radio, RTE 2FM in Ireland, and other stations across the globe. The band have also been featured on Spotify editorial playlists in France, Germany, Japan, and more.

Secret Cameras are currently recording their second EP to be released later this year. The first single, “The Silence,” was mixed by Dan Austin (Pixies, Maximo Park, The Cooper Temple Clause) and was released on March 27th.

Big Takeover is pleased to host the premiere of the energetic performance video for “The Silence.” Band members Itamar Starets (lead vocals, guitar, synths), Kyle Hall (guitar) of Goldheart Assembly and Mono Club, Ash Hall (drums, electronics) of Echobelly and My Preserver, and Sam Thiery (bass, backing vocals) are spotlighted in the saturated black ‘n’ blinding white shot video.

The restless song winds with psych-tinged guitar waver, boils with a roiling bass line, effervesces with electronic percolation, crashes with smashed cymbals, and explodes with pummeled drum strikes. Starets’ dark and emotiive vocals weave through the potent mix and cry out with intense passion.

That urgency and lyrics-based frustration is channeled into the band’s powerful performance. Check it out below:
