Creative Differences is a comedy/drama film currently in development that is written and produced by Chris Lark. It deals with the cool, crazy and complicated world of the music business in both the US and UK. The main plot centers on a young, struggling recording engineer looking for work in Los Angeles and the zany but complex situation he gets involved in when he’s hired by a UK label to mix the master tape for one of their artists. The film takes place from the years 1993 – 2000.
Big Takeover readers will be drawn to the music in this film: The Black Watch has been confirmed as contributing new music to the Creative Differences soundtrack. The music will also focus on music from the 1990’s (like Shoegaze/Dreampop, and Britpop) that seem to be resurging in popularity now.
Creative Differences is directed by Laurence Shanet, an award-winning director and writer. He is also a past winner of the Young Director Award at The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival and was listed among the industry’s Top 10 Directors To Watch list.
Bruce Pollock is the Music Supervisor for the film. He’s been involved for many years in the music business working on projects for major label like Sony, and later authorized passionate books on music (2 are coming out in the Spring of 2017 – just search for his name on Amazon.com). These activities have led him to a dedicated career in music supervision.
Becky Pollock is working both cast and crew jobs in Creative Differences. As an actress, she’s cast as the quirky recording studio executive. She’s also contributing to the film’s soundtrack as a music consultant. Along with acting, she has worked as a music supervisor, talent scout, artist booker, and has been an entertainment industry professional for ten years.
Creative Differences is written and produced by Chris Lark. This is Chris’s first major in development film. He studied Cinema and TV at USC and later developed an interest in Screenwriting and Film and TV production. Chris has also been a long time fan and subscriber to The Big Takeover.
