The Monochrome Set, the arty, melodic, British post-punk institution with a massive back catalogue on labels such as Cherry Red and Rough Trade, is playing its first U.S. shows in more than 30 years this Spring. (Their last U.S. show was December 30, 1982 at NYC’s Ritz!) The band – featuring iconic singer Bid, guitarist Lester Square, and bassist Andy Warren – will conduct a week-long tour in around New York in late May/early June, with additional stops in Asbury Park, NJ, Bordentown NJ, and Philadelphia.
The tour kicks off May 27 at lower Manhattan’s The Bowery Electric with Dot Dash , whose album Winter Garden Light featured in Jack’s ‘Top 40’ in the last BT issue, and whose numbers include Big Takeover scribe Terry Banks, opening. Show info here.
