Follow The Big Takeover
Once again, for those who greatly enjoy our Big Takeover Magazine print issues and this site (I hope that means you!), you might enjoy my weekly radio show too (new show every Monday), as I play a ton of stuff that is covered in our pages and here as well, both old and new:
This week’s show, after a quick homage to The Stooges (RIP Scott Asheton): Bubblegum Lemonade (new), Withered Hand, New Mendicants, The Sensible Grey Cells, Dum Dum Girls, Real Estate, Dandelion Seeds, Dead Leaf Echo, Blouse, Iggy & the Stooges, D.O.A. (live), Stiff Little Fingers (new), 999, Broken Gold, September Girls, Midnight on Pearl Beach, Scattered Bodies, and Aztec Camera (Kid Jensen BBC Session). Why not give it a nice long spin?
I especially like the lyrics to Sensible Grey Cells “Forgotten High Streets” — anyone whose historic town centers have emptied out and turned into comparative ghost towns because of the opening of new malls and proliferation of big box store concentrations out on the outskirts, will really enjoy this one, I think. (Not mentioning any names, Helena, Montana!)
Also, as I remind in this space every week (‘cause I think it’s important to reiterate), iif you want to hear any of my previous shows, you can go to my page on the site, and all 300 previous shows (and our several “Rabid Sessions show” can be heard at your leisure there as well!) Many hours of fine music, since we never repeat the same song twice!
As they say on the 3 Stooges, “What are we waitin’ fer?” Enjoy!
