EP Premiere: 3 Consecutive Championships by Bryon Parker

Bryon Parker
1 April 2022

Bryon Parker is an American alternative rock musician. He has played a variety of music, loosely fitting into other genres such as post-punk, math rock and indie folk.

In the city of Denver, Colorado he first rose to obscure prominence for his work with Denver-based band Accordion Crimes (2009-2016). Following the departure of that noise-rock trio, he released music with the two-piece, post-punk collaboration Simulators (2016-2019). Parker has also contributed to the sounds of other musicians in and around Denver. As a result, he’s found himself sitting in occasionally with live line-ups, playing with the likes of Neil Haggerty’s Howling Hex, American Culture, Little Wings and Kramies

On April 1st of 2022, VanGerrett Records will release Parker’s solo collection – 3 Consecutive Championships. These three songs were recorded and produced by Lucas Johannes at his studio Base Mess. Additional personal on 3 Consecutive Championships finds friends Hans Buenning (Intakers) on drums and Ben Mund (Canceled Future) behind keyboard synthesizers. In summation, Parker describes this latest genre-mixing release as, “an amalgamation of my own recorded output in underground music.”

“I was once an intern with Smithsonian Folkways Recordings,” Parker recalled. “That was the year Ella Jenkins received a Lifetime Achievement Award. I remember the day after the Grammy ceremony; I caught a buzz off of boardroom champagne. The making of my new EP, 3 Consecutive Championships, reminds me of this feeling. I’m a bench warmer on my own team. An eternal intern, celebrating the buzz.”
