Since forming in 2015, Arizona-based rock ‘n’ roll band Wyves has developed a memorable sound and unmistakable edge that you will gravitate towards. Filtering inspirations from the likes of Prince, The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, and the Beach Boys, they manage to make you feel nostalgic for all the great rock acts while having a fresh, distinct sound all their own.

A testament to the current craziness of society, Wyves shreds into the rock scene with their upcoming album R U OK?. The compilation of powerful and catchy tracks is filled with standout guitar licks, groovin’ basslines, hard drum hits, and relevant that mark its well-deserved spot in your musical library.

In only 3 years, Wyves has played numerous shows and festivals.Between the four members (Corey Gloden – lead vocals, guitar, lyricist, Nick Sterling – lead guitar, vocals, keys, Brenden McBride – bass, backing vocals, and Evan Knisley – drums, backing vocals), there has been a lot of knowledge gained and miles traveled for such a young and up-and-coming rock band. Beyond their homebase of Phoenix, Wyves has made it a point to establish their name in many major city scenes along the West Coast through touring and online outreach.

Not ones to shy away from a traditional rock ‘n’ roll sound or timely, thought-provoking lyrics, Wyves recently released a video for their tune “Mar-a-Lago” which skewers Trump, and on new single “Princess Excess”, which The Big Takeover is delighted to premiere here, the band target millionaire heiresses (Hmmm, Ivanka Trump, anyone?) with slow-burning, seductive vocals, fiery guitar haze, and heavily stompin’ pace.
