Ben Noble is a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter who released his debut album Whisky Priest in the spring of 2017. Fully self-produced and recorded in a cabin, Whisky Priest is a journey of exacting introspection. Noble is now gearing up to release his highly anticipated follow-up album. Titled Where The Light Comes In, the LP will be released on March 6th.
Noble loves the contrast of serene, innocent melodies with a haunting chorus of falsetto voices. Live, he blends delicate melodies with electronic elements for a truly unique sonic experience.
Where The Light Comes In is a major expansion of Noble’s sonic palette, introducing drums, synthesizers, electric guitars, and much more to his signature ethereal vocal melodies and textures. It is as much a sonic experiment as it is a heart-rending search for answers to questions of grief and the cyclical nature of trauma.
Noble has a beautiful ,lightly airy voice tinged with a bit of melancholy. He’s stylistically adventurous in his sound, with an intriguing blend of electronic pop and post-rock, and compositions that have a classical/soundscape vibe at times.
Noble has generously made a new dance-focused video for his high-flying, yet wistful single “Bluebird” exclusively for the Big Takeover. We’re proud to host the premiere of the video right here.
The visuals are saturated in bright white and ink blue and showcase Noble doing his happy dance and rockin’ out by the end of the video, sometimes splitting into multiple figures to fully capture the expansive nature of the song.
