Punk-rock fans will recognize Koski as a co-founder of the long-running San Francisco-based band Swingin’ Utters, but his solo debut, Sisu, is a decidedly un-punk affair, as this jumpin’ country-style number will attest. The album, which comes out April 7 on Fat Wreck Chords, also encompasses roots, honky-tonk, accordion-driven instrumentals and even lounge-pop! You gotta respect a guy who’s willing to break his own mold, especially when the result is some seriously fine new music. Check it out:
