““Right All The Time” is about how the good memories keep you holding on when a relationship grows unhealthy,” explains Michael Julian Escobar of Seattle foursome Moon Darling. “I repeat the lyrics with more intensity on the second verse, to represent the repeated self-questioning growing more difficult and transforming into resentment.”
“Right All The Time” is taken from Moon Darling’s new EP By The Light of The Moon, which in addition to Escobar’s intense vocals, contains some intense playing by the rest of the band, as well.
Along with Escobar’s stadium-sized guitar licks and vocals, drummer Michelle Nuño punctuates the proceedings with a unique style held up by the sneaky underpinnings of bassist Jack Jay. The atmospheric, psychedelic lean of Moon Darling is given an overall mist by keyboardist, Matthew Buckner.
In all, the band’s new EP manages a sound that hasn’t been associated with Seattle since the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
