This week's "Big Takeover on Breakthru Radio" show: new Slowness, Proper Ornaments, Len Price 3, Juliana Hatfield, old Ennio Morricone, etc.!

14 July 2014

Once again, for those who greatly enjoy our Big Takeover Magazine print issues and this site (I hope that means you!), you might enjoy my weekly radio show too (new show every Monday), as I play a ton of stuff that is covered in our pages and here as well, both old and new:

This week’s show after a not so bad Mamas and the Papas croon: Slowness (new), Proper Ornaments (new), Soft Science, Lightfoils (new), Ennio Morricone, +/- (Plus/Minus), Sad Lovers and Giants, The Weirdos, Penetration, Radio Birdman (live), Len Price 3 (new), Bob Mould (new), Replacements, The Last, Throwing Muses, Tanya Donelly, Lisa Mychols, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Juliana Hatfield (new)! You really might enjoy this is you give it a listen! What the hey, right?

And we have some interesting much older song for you as ever to shake things up, my favorite this week is an soundtrack song by the immortal, gladly still with us Ennio Morricone (and rest in peace Eli Wallach, who lived to be nearly 100 years old, whose passing is what prompted me to play that track) and 70s country rockers New Riders of the Purple Sage, as well as some 1977-1981 punky classics by The Weirdos, The Replacements, Penetration, and Radio Birdman (theirs a song from that era performed on a more recent U.S. reunion tour live album). Lots of classic stuff to chew on this week!

Also, as I remind in this space every week (‘cause I think it’s important to reiterate), iif you want to hear any of my previous shows, you can go to my page on the site, and all 314 previous shows (and our several “Rabid Sessions show” can be heard at your leisure there as well!) Many hours of fine music, since we never repeat the same song twice!

Enjoy, women and heels! Or is that heals? Or women with heels? Never mind…
