Welsh-Australian troubadour Sonny Winnebago aka Harvey Jones is the real deal. A travelling folk-artist who is soaking up inspiration from life, living out of a suitcase and crafting uplifting songs of transcendent bliss when the mood takes him. Whilst folk music may be the foundations of his sound by way of Cat Stevens or Father John Misty, his music is not thoroughly hinged to that genre. And other, more alternative influences come through, creating more depth to his style with an inherent originality.
He has just released his debut outing “Take Me For A Ride” with the support of the Forte Project. A single which is a perfectly crafted kick-back-and-chill moment. With a shuffling bass and juicy rhythms the track springs to life with some sparkling, melodic acoustic work. The vocals of Sonny are both engaging and very relatable, with a talented vocal range which aids the singer perform some flexing of his voice. Luckily, we as the audience are at the start of his journey looking at what promises to be an interesting adventure.
