Boston hardcore is known for speed, intensity and a ferocity unique to the Cradle of Liberty. MFP continue in the Beantown tradition, adding their name to the list of hardcore greats.
With six songs at 9 and a half minutes, you know what the deal is. None of the songs reach the two minute mark. Instead, they rage like a rogue elephant, destroying everything that gets in the way. Early FU’s, SSD and Negative FX are obvious comparisons, but MFP also bring in a heavy Cro-Mags-syle element and a particular Poison Idea type of nastiness for a powerful, uncompromising onslaught of aggression. The bass and guitar create a wall of fury propelled forward by the crashing drums and accentuated by hoarse, shouting vocals. It’s not cute and it’s not pretty – it’s a raw embodiment of sheer anger.
MFP provide the perfect soundtrack to the commute home after a really horrible day at work, or that screaming fight with your girlfriend that will leave the neighbors talking for days. Grab this 7” and wash in the sound of pure negativity.
