Born and raised north of Boston and presently living in Boston, Andy McCarthy has been listening to music and enjoying music since he can remember. As a youngster, he listened to a lot of classic rock. Luckily, when he got to college his music tastes started to change and evolve. Being a DJ at his college radio station, WMFO, at Tufts University, his friends’ musical tastes and local radio stations’ influences changed his listening habits. You can find him always doing something with regard to music either listening to it, attending shows, reading about it, browsing for it at shops and online and just basically enjoying it. He is always open to the next big thing or the big thing that he may have missed. When not at work, you can find him at record shops, festivals, beaches, parks, playgrounds, mountains, and museums.
WFNX (101.7 FM) in the Boston area has been sold and this article tells why in my opinion the radio station will be missed.
