Belgrade, Serbia-located atmospheric alt-/post-metal band Face Off is about to bow a new EP, titled Massive, on May 25th via Transcending Records. Massive is the follow-up of Face Off’s single “Lush” from 2014, in which the band stated their new sonic direction after the 2013 release of their debut full length.

The four-piece (Marija Kovacevic – vocals, Stefan Vitasovic – guitars, Stanislav Stanojevic – bass, and Zoltan Simon – drums) depict their sound as a unique border between dreamy and ethereal post-rock and harder edged post-metal. Being the first in series of conceptual albums the band plans to unveil in the near future, Massive creates a dramatic, yet dreamy cornerstone opus for their future endeavors.

Stefan Vitasovic gives some details about the creation of the EP, sharing, “The major part of the recording of Massive took place at Devotion Studios, Belgrade. Additional recordings, effects and further production were done at the band’s home studio, followed by mixing and mastering at Arsafes Records, Moscow. This EP contains five tracks with “Retouching” being the track that was featured in the announcement trailer of the space-survival game Hellion released on Steam.”

Vitasovic continues, “The release could be described as post-metal/doom with a lot of atmospheric nuances and is the first in a series of records we will release in the near future. We’re currently finishing pre-production for Massive’s successor and the recording will take place later this year.”
