Relations is a New York-based noise-pop band consisting of singer/guitarist Mike Sanders, bassist Terence Murren, and drummer Timothy Monaghan. Their music draws on many influences, but always from a place of realness and individuality… from the Buzzcocks to Jon Cale to Pavement … ’70s psych to ’90s post-hardcore.

The band is set to release its new album, Cloud Dreaming, on November 18th via Midriff Records.

Drifting through the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, Cloud Dreaming is a collection of soulful noise-pop anthems embodying that universal sense of longing and nostalgia. Throughout the album, the band shifts energies and sounds while the lyrics speak to longing and want… A rebellion to the daily grind… A need for something otherworldly and bigger in one’s life. Higher thoughts, but also the grit of enduring and continuing to make art.

Sanders states about the new single that, ““Carry On” is a track about truly maintaining one’s sense of self through the wearisome and spiritually stifling impact of one’s particular daily grind; separating what you do from who you are. I like to think that crescendo and release at the end of the song serves as that deliverance and offsets the steady pulse/grind of the first half.”

Release Show: November 17th @ Alphaville Brooklyn w/ Weakened Friends (Boston), Washed Up (members of Weird Womb), and Fever High
