“We all know those dirty, sweating late summer days where the city is trying to get the better of you,” says Ben Chace, songwriter and frontman for Brooklyn folk-rockers Bird Dog “All you can do to fend it off is reclude to the closest fire escape or rooftop with a few cold beers and a guitar, and try to ride it out.”

Bird Dog plays original material drawing on a wide of range of influences from American and Irish folk, to 60’s R&B and West African highlife. Chace is a filmmaker who has worked in New York and the Caribbean and his lyrics weave thoughts and images from those experiences with the usual trials and tribulations of love, heartbreak and the absurdity of modern life.
“Dog Days” is from the band’s upcoming EP, the delightfully titled Bon Bon Voyage, the release of which will be celebrated June 4 at Jalopy. It’s slinky and clanky and we love it to bits.
