The Como Brothers Band - Imagination EP (Self-Released)

29 August 2015

The Como Brothers Band is siblings Matt and Andrew from Long Island, NY, and after 2013’s fantastic Baby Steps, the duo is back with their new EP, Imagination, bringing more of the same blues-inspired pop music they’ve come to be known for. Produced by Grammy Award winning producer Graham Marsh (Bruno Mars, CeeLo Green) at Germano Studios, the EP is comprised of five new originals as well as a spirited cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold as Love.” The brothers’ sound is as sunny as it is soulful, and there is obviously a close knit chemistry shared between the two.

The list of credits reads like a roll call of some of today’s biggest session musicians, including Steve Jordan, drummer on “Uptown Funk,” and keyboardist Andy Burton of the John Mayer Band. Coincidentally, or maybe not, the majority of the songs here feature bluesy guitar licks reminiscent of John Mayer. The title track, “Imagination,” is also a fantastically grand piano-led deviation, but the irresistibly catchy lead single “Good Enough For Me” is easily amongst the best songs here. A wonderful new release from the duo, Imagination is just another reason to love what the brothers Como do.
