With the unsettling combination of Jean-Jacques Burnel’s concussion bass, Dave Greenfield’s Manzarek-ian keyboards, Jet Black’s relentless rhythms and Hugh Corwell’s gruff vocals and slashing guitar, The Stranglers unleashed one of the most devastating sounds of all of Britain’s class of ’77.
So let us now watch (and listen to) the initial onslaught of these Stranglers.
