The Forgotten Rebels: A Videography (1979-1989)
For over thirty years Hamilton’s Forgotten Rebels have mixed glam-pop songs with obnoxio-punk attitude to form a genre unto themselves. The band have given offense to many an audiences over the years with lyrics that some view as satirical and others as insensitive. The truth of it is, is that The Rebels are one of Canada’s great punk bands, and leader Mickey DeSadest, he of the sharp tongue and even sharper hooks, is, as he claims to be, “The Last One Standing”.
While the band’s video archives are narrow and shaky, due to a lack of solid backing from their varying record labels over the years, they reveal much about a band who refuse to lie down and die.
