AS ALWAYS, CLICK 'READ MORE' BUTTON TO GET DETAILS ON ARTISTS/BANDS & THEIR MUSIC.

We’re going on a head-trip for this playlist since 2021 is already turning into a manically surreal year… I don’t know that much about the artists/bands here, except that their music – and mood – caught my ear over the past few weeks.

1. Every Time I Die – “Colossal Wreck”
Buffalo, NY-located metalcore band that recently unleashed this ferocious single, along with a 2nd track via Epitaph.

2. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets – “The Terrors”
Wild Australian psych-rock band with equally eye-popping (usually animated) music videos. Latest album SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound out February 5th via Marathon Artists. For some reason they just dropped Pukebox EP which contains 5 numbers that will appear on the upcoming LP.

3. Strange Bones & Calva Louise – “9 Lives”
Two bold UK rock band team up for this defiantly rampaging dance-rock romp one-off.

4. a/lpaca – “Beat Club”
Blank out your mind on the dancefloor with this driving and repetitive number from a band I’ve never heard of until now. The Italian psych-rock/post-punk group’s debut album Make It Better will arrive March 19th via WWNBB.

5. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – “Oddlife”
Can’t get odder than the band’s name, right? The outfit spark it up and daze out to quickly pattering rhythms on a restless track from November-released LP K.G..

6. The Effens – “Pavement Age”
All I know is this indie rock band hail from Toronto, Canada, and this missive is kick-ass.

7. White Ring – “I Need A Way”
Witch house progenitors are back with a foreboding dreamy-nightmare number to disturb your slumber. New album Show Me Heaven descends February 19th.

8. Cherry Glazerr – “Rabbit Hole”
LA-based indie rock band pump it up with a percolating dance-pop track.

9. SLUGS – “Super Sane”
Affecting folk-pop with reverberating acoustic guitar and sweetly warm ‘n’ wistful vocals from this LA-based alt-rock band.

10. The Death of Pop – “Miles”
London-based alternative outfit unveil a hazy psych-tinged reverie with bleak lyrics and longing vocals, taken from forthcoming LP Seconds.
