AC/DC - Notre Dame Stadium (South Bend, IN) - September 4th, 2026

6 September 2026
Recap and photos by Curt Baran.

Sure, they may be considerably less spry, but what they lacked in youthful gymnastics, AC/DC more than compensated with enthusiasm, sheer grit and an undeniable catalog of rock radio classics.

Couched on the template of the beauty that is Notre Dame Stadium and an insanely sweltering summer evening, the Aussie band led by guitarist Angus Young and vocalist Brian Johnson barreled their way through nearly two dozen radio-friendly unit shifters. As always, Young was adorned in his schoolboy uniform.

After more than five-plus decades plying their trade, the hits came fast and furious. “Back In Black,” “Highway To Hell,” “Let There Be Rock” (with requisite lengthy guitar solo), “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Hells Bells,” … well, I think you can see why it’s a pedigree unto its own. A packed house lapped up every note, as if reliving the soundtrack to their lives … probably because they were.

Furthermore, anything that places AC/DC adjacent to the famed Touchdown Jesus Mural has found an immediate place in the pantheon of school history.
