A small room, Park Slope, friendly people, and free pop music provided by Charles Ramsey and band – a great combination. The first few songs were off his subtly powerful Love Don’t Need to Feel So Foreign EP (I ask, “It don’t?”). Who can resist the la-la chanty “Architect In Love”, which so belongs on the radio. More melodic emotional songs followed and if Billy Joel were in the audience, he’d be so taking notes. In lieu of an encore (maybe the overly-talky audience was a little oblivious), Ramsey let his hair down with a disco-funky song, “So Much Better Off”, a song off his first record, 2005’s Something Now. Johnny Thunders and Iggy Pop would approve (their portraits hung on the wall).
