There’s something to be said for the intangible magic of hearing not only a song you love but a song you never thought you would be able to hear live. Such was the case on Monday night at Thalia Hall when Melody’s Echo Chamber played a stellar 75 minute set to tour their newest 2025 release Unclouded. French chanteuse Melody Prochet provided luscious layers of instrumentation, pedal effects, and her blissful vocals all the while dancing effortlessly across the stage. She was joined by two guitarists providing intermittent harmonies, a bassist, and a drummer to make the songs all the more glorious.

It was wonderful to behold the enchanting melodies that enveloped the audience easily and right from the start. Prochet tends to flirt with both pop and psychedelic genres but all the while maintaining an intoxicating sense of chord progressions, elevating the songs to be quite memorable. It was with a sort of wonder that the audience was treated to both stellar new songs like, “ Flowers Turn Into Gold,” “Memory’s Underground” and “Into Shadows” mingling perfectly with older treasures like “Crystalized,” “Snowcapped Andes Crash” and “Quand vas tu rentrer” from the previous three releases. The audience loved singing along with “I Follow You” especially.

Despite all of the auditory enchantment, it would be remiss to not consider the complexity behind the gems and watching Prochet work on fine tuning the different effects and creating a psychedelic symphony helped the audience truly appreciate all of the elements involved. The other band members really helped give the songs their luster live as well, extending some of the chord progressions into jams at times and emphasizing the notes in a way that helped them gain a new momentum and ventured into dreamy crescendos.
