This month’s Rabid Sessions at Pancake Factory Studios on Breakthruradio.com show is with Washington D.C. post-punk pop veterans Dot Dash. They play four live songs for us in the studio without overdubs, sit for a long interview with me, and sit patiently while I spin not one but 10—yes—10 bands Dot Dash’s members have formerly played with, a murderer’s row of songs by Swervedriver, Minor Threat, Youth Brigade (D.C.), Julie Ocean, The Saturday People, Ultracherry Violet, Strange Boutique, St. Christopher, Glo-Worm, and Tree Fort Angst! . Why not tune in? And since Dot Dash frontman Terry Banks has been one of the prime writers for our Big Takeover print magazine for well over two decades, and I have met some of his bandmates over the years in those previous bands, needless to say it’s a jovial interview that can be heard here. Kudos once again to engineer/producer Mike Hurst, Pancake Factory’s maven, for his sterling work in recording them.
Also see Dot Dash’s new third LP Half Remembered Dream by heading over to Dot Dash’s bandcamp page to hear more of this terrific quartet.
Here is the place to go to listen to Dot Dash’s session … Enjoy! A little slice of live Brooklyn for you.
And thanks to the group for coming down… This was great fun!
