This month’s Rabid Sessions at Pancake Factory Studios on Breakthruradio.com show is actually a special broadcast from Bozeman’s God’s Little Ear Acre Studio instead, with Australian punk godfather, Radio Birdman guitarist Deniz Tek. He and his crack American solo band play four live songs for us in the studio without overdubs, including an old Birdman tune and a Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac track, and he sits for a long interview with me, and also sits patiently while I spin tracks by his friends The Stooges, MC5, Saints, New Christs, Birdman and other Tek bands/projects of the past and present, Donovan’s Brain, The Visitors, Angie Pepper, and New Race. Why not give it a listen. Tek is a pretty fascinating guy. And yes we talk about his work as an Emergency Room Doctor and ex-Navy Flight surgeon and Fighter Pilot, too! Thanks again to engineer/producer Ron Sanchez, God’s Little Ear Acre Studio head and Donovan’s Brain bandmate, and Career Records maven, for his excellent work in recording the group and also playing keyboards on the session while he was doing that.
Also see more great info on Deniz’s most recent, second solo LP on Career Records, Detroit and all kinds of other interesting photos and info on his long 40-year career by heading over to Deniz Tek’s official website
Here is the place to go to listen to Deniz Tek’s session … Enjoy! A little slice of live history for you.
And thanks to all in the the group for coming down… This was great fun!
