R.I.P. Steve Kaika, bassist of New London greats The Reducers

Very sorry to hear about the death of (New London, CT 34-year stalwarts) Reducers‘ bassist Steve Kaika; been a fan of the group for 30 years, and all four of them were tremendously nice to me and Springhouse, letting us play with them one night at The Beat in Port Chester, NY, when our show at nearby SUNY Purchase suddenly fell through after we got up there—I think circa 1990? A real gent, and the end, amazingly, of a lineup that never stopped or changed or ever was anything buy magnificent all that time. R.I.P. and full condolences. Looks like they will remember him tomorrow, and well we all should.
