Video premiere: "Sublime Haze" by The High Violets

I am just nuts for this great new video for the non-album track “Sublime Haze” from Portland, Oregon’s great psychedelic dream pop band, The High Violets. Produced by DC filmmaker Matthew Levin and his friend Kevin Fetta, most of the video was filmed in Lafayette Park, a lovely green space across from The White House in DC. The song itself originally debuted on the St. Marie Records compilation, Static Waves 4, and the hazy, cinematic daze of this great song lends itself well to the waves of dayglo color and cute squirrels cavorting through each frame. I never thought of squirrels in lysergic terms, but their jumps through trees are turned into glowing hues and waves in this delightful video. The framework lends itself perfectly to another classic tune from some of my favorite dream popsters!
