From Capital city (that’s Ottawa for you yanks), Evil Farm Children are yet another example of why Ottawa can give ‘er hardcore with the best of them in Canada. There’s a healthy love for rock and roll in O-town and a ream of awesome bands repping the gnarlier, filthier side of rawk like The Polymorphines, The Secret Loves, The Uncles, The White Wires and The Banditas, to name but a few.
This sexy little marbled puce-colored 7” boldly throws an instrumental at you on the A, “Three Orange Whips” being a note and tone-perfect Fabulous Wailers-style raunchy twist with a dash of Link Wray. Perfect. On the flip guitarist/vocalist Dave Kerr spins a dark tale on “Outer Limits Bride” “Three Orange Whips”, this one’s a bit more straight ahead garage blues, complete with awesome harmonica shredding.. fantastic rhythm section Janice Fitzsimmons and Jeb Bond, bass and drums respectively, hold down the groove like pros.
Evil Farm Children have made a beauty of a 7” that plays well with anything Norton. Throw in a rad black & white hand-drawn sleeve and this is exactly the kind of candy that rock and rollas like me love to get wired on.
