Michael Korb is a singer/songwriter from St. James, Long Island who writes wispy, dreamy pop songs with a heavy Radiohead influence. His falsetto is part Thom York, part Elliott Smith. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of any of the above, so Two of Me just makes me shrug and go, “Eh.”
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad album if you like this sort of thing, but personally, I’d rather stick an icepick in my ear than listen to Radiohead and I never heard what was so great about Elliott Smith in the first place. This is the sort of music that would fit perfectly as the sappy outro song on a teen melodrama such as One Tree Hill or 90210. Hopefully, a television producer will hear this and use a song and Korb can make tens of thousands of dollars from it.
So basically, if you’re a fan of Radiohead, give Two of Me a listen. If you’re not, don’t bother. You can’t go wrong either way.
