Sonny Vincent remains a prolific songwriter with consistent releases of blistering punk & roll. Beginning his tenure within the lauded NYC punk subculture with Testors, he immediately tore up Lower East Side clubs with his incendiary brand of punk & roll. Testors are often overlooked within New York’s storied Punk rock lexicon, but Vincent carved a niche within that epicenter by creating a chaotic audio background for his brand of street poetry.
Prime Primitive compiles nine early studio recordings with clearer sound quality compared to other Testors compilations, thanks to Timothy Stollenwerk’s remastering. Side B features five live tracks of intensely gritty rock & roll, capturing the ferocity and irreverence often on display throughout the group’s tenure. Released in close collaboration with Vincent, Prime Primitive marks the foundation of Sonny’s street poetry, which he has since enhanced to share with international audiences throughout his lengthy career.
