Tracksuit – Where Have All the Good Times Gone? (self-released)

The Australian rock scene has produced a bunch of great guitar pop bands over the decades, as varied as the Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I and the Chevelles. Add young trio Tracksuit to the list, as the band’s five-song EP Where Have All the Good Times Gone? is a delight. “She’s Damaged,” “Mr Mower” and “Little Man” balance jangle and oomph with an aplomb spawned of expert craft and giddy enthusiasm. “Picture of Love” mellows the mood, but only slightly, while “Sing For Your Soul” takes the disk out with a psychedelic intro and garage rock verve. Guitarist Steve Hensby‘s boyish blare was born to sing these songs, perfectly complimenting the numerous hooks. Give Tracksuit even a third of a chance and the band will win you over faster than a politician giving out bribes.
