Government Issue reunion
Government Issue played last week at The Black Cat in DC, their first show since 1989. The show featured John Stabb as well as the entire You / Crash era lineup of GI – Tom Lyle, Peter Moffett and Jay Robbins. When GI broke up in 1989, Jay went on to play in Jawbox, Peter recorded with Dove and Wool and then started Burning Airlines. Tom played in Rollkicker with Peter in the early 1990’s and then recorded an EP with Dizzy Dizzy in 1994. John has done several projects since GI closed shop, including two great EP’s of UK inspired post punk with The Factory Incident, a demo with Weatherhead and an EP with Emma Peel in 1993. Number six is an interview tape from WPRB in Princeton, taped during their 1989 tour.
