Chris Stroffolino: March 19, 2006

  1. Jen Loy
Jen Loy runs Mama Buzz Cafe in Oakland, which allowed me to host this acoustic event featuring the other perfomers on this Top Ten. I was hoping to raise money to help get the cafe an acoustic piano.
  2. Chris Dingman
Chris Dingman is the front-man for Berkeley based Crooked Roads, and donated his time to play a solo-acoustic set at the Mama Buzz show.
  3. Dattner
Dattner is an up and coming San Francisco-based Stand-up comic, who performed a great short set at the cafe on Febraury 25th.
  4. Kira Lynn Cain
San Francisco-based, Kira Lynn Cain has a band called Kira Lynn Cain and The Lost Motels, and played a moving solo set at the cafe on February 25th.
  5. Bucky Sinister
Bucky Sinister is a San Francisco based poet, whose latest book, Whiskey and Robots, was published by Last Gasp in 2004. He also performed at Mama Buzz in Feb. 25th.
  6. Michael Zapruder
Michael Zapruder’s new band, Rain of Frogs , will be releasing an album this year. He performed a solo set at this February 25th extravaganza.
  7. Amy and Spencer
Amy, who used to play with East Bay band Blanche DevereauxSpiritual Heaven, who also perfomed an acoustic set at this event on February 25th.
  8. Mia Lipman
Mia Lipman has sung with Continuous Peasant, and at the February 25th show, sang lead on “Blue State Blues,” and harmonized, and played tambourine on other songs.
  9. Biff Rose
Legendary singer/songwriter pianist, who wrote “Fill Your Heart,” later made famous by David Bowie, and is currently in exile from New Orleans. He showed up on Feb. 25th, but demurred when asked to play a song.
  10. Brian Glaze
Brian Glaze is one of my favorite up and coming local musicians. He didn’t play on February 25th that night, as he was preparing for his tour being backed up by local band Gris Gris, but he did show up, and will hopefully play at the next one with us when he returns.
