10 Albums From 1985 That I Loved at the Time

Of course there was more groundbreaking music made that year than what’s on the list, but I was 11 years old at the time! (I turned 12 in October.) Most of this stuff seems really awful to me now (while inducing vague feelings of nostalgia), but the top album on here is still one of my favorites, the second one’s pretty decent, and the others have some interesting moments here and there.

  1. Prince – Around the World in a Day (Warner Bros)
  2. INXS – Listen Like Theives (Atlantic)
  3. Bon Jovi – 7800 Farenheit (Mercury)
  4. Dokken – Under Lock and Key (Elektra)
  5. Starship – Knee Deep in the Hoopla (Grunt)
  6. John Mellencamp – Scarecrow (Mercury)
  7. Ratt – Invasion of Your Privacy (Atlantic)
  8. The Hooters – Nervous Night (Columbia)
  9. Iron Maiden – Live After Death (Capitol)
  10. Kiss – Asylum (Mercury)
