Kristen Sollee: November 20, 2005

  1. Ministry – “Everyday Is Halloween”
Perhaps the BEST Halloween-related song ever, so it ranks #1 on my list of favorites for Samhain Eve. (I live with snakes and lizards and other things that go bump in the night…)
  2. The Birthday Party – “Release the Bats”
Nick Cave at his most insane. (Horror bat, BITE!)
  3. The Cult – “Phoenix”
Spooky psych-out from the band formerly known as Death Cult/ Southern Death Cult (Like a kiss from the lips of Ra that burns on…)
  4. Oingo Boingo – “Dead Man’s Party”
Yes, Danny Elfman did exist before Tim Burton’s films. (Leave your body and soul at the door…)
  5. Christian Death – “Skeleton Kiss”
Rozz Williams in a wedding dress- what more could you want on Halloween? (Five more minutes and we’ll all be dead…)
  6. 45 Grave – “Riboflavin”
Dinah Cancer = THE reigning queen of deathrock. (Riboflavin flavored, non-carbonated, poly-unsaturated blood!)
  7. Chris Isaak – “Voodoo”
Chris Isaak’s first album is SO dark and underrated. (Dance in a ring of flames…)
  8. Batlord – “Undertaker”
An awesome combo of 60’s garage and spookiness! (I wanna be your date at your final social call…)
  9. Type O Negative – “Black No. 1”
Any rockstar that models for Playgirl is OK by me. (Loving you was like loving the dead…)
  10. Misfits – “Skulls”
No New York Halloween would be complete without them. (Hack the heads off little girls and put ‘em on my wall…)
