Underrated Bands

From Then and Now

  1. Nikki and the Corvettes

Classic, oft-imitated punky girl group goodness. Breezy, sassy and perfect for summer. First new album in 25 years and a tour – what more could Nikkimaniancs want? Check her out.

  2. Psychotica

Forget Manson, Pat Briggs was the 90’s god of glam. This founder of Squeezebox never got the audience he deserved…

  3. Snog
  4. Prick
  5. Rachel Stamp

Producer extraordinare Bob Ezrin called their tour de force, Oceans of Venus, “the most brilliant rock record to come out of the UK in ages,” and the man is dead right. Check ‘em out.

  6. Hollywood Brats

A British New York Dolls said to have formed at the same time as Actress did on the other side of the Atlantic. Released one album – real trashy fun.

  7. Newlydeads
  8. Rasputina

Yeah they were on a major ten years ago, but they still need more respect. Melora Creager is a genius for weaving American history, electricity, and cellos into kickass rnr.

  9. Hollywood Morgue

I don’t know if this DC-based band ever officially released a CD before breaking up, but I have some demos and their groovy, goth-kitsch electro glam is addictive.
