Shadowtime on MySpace
I’ve finally given into MySpace. After two years of dragging my heels and refusing to post semi-nude pictures of myself next to a profile of carefully constructed likes and dislikes to showcase how cool I really am, I figured out a way to use the site without wallowing in total frivolity: music networking! Ok, so promoting a blog is somewhat better than cavorting as a MySpaceSlut, but there’s still some high levels of self-indulgence involved no matter what. However, having a Shadowtime MySpace page will put me in touch with more bands, more publicists, and more rock fans, which will increase readership along with my interview/review/article options. And then there’s also the obvious reason – its really fun! So check me out here on MySpace, friend me if you want, and give Shadowtime some sugar.
Countdown to August 10th, for what I believe is this Japanese goth/VK group’s first New York City show!
Due to radio overplay, I will soon grow to hate this very Gwen Stefani-ish track. But, for now, I’m totally down.
Such a lady but I’m dancin’ like a ho!
Looking forward to hearing some bittersweet mood music live for the first time at the Merc tommorrow.
End of the Heat Wave
For good, I hope…
A hit off their 1989 album Psycho Cafe, some may dismiss the track as hairband cheeze, although I prefer to refer to it as dark pop metal with deliciously dissonant vox.
Cute title, good, solid, sleazy rnr song.
Sick remix by Chris Vrenna, who, incidentally, is touring in a Chewbacca suit as Gnarls Barkley’s drummer.
I never heard this glam stomper before Eddie Trunk’s radio show on 104.3.
Drop Dead Festival 2006
Less than a month away on Labor Day Weekend! Come and get your death rock on.
