Rich Zweiback: October 17, 2010

Music to stay sane by.

It’s been a tough week. Here are 10 songs that helped me keep what’s left of my sanity.

  1. Cheap Trick: Dream Police

    Pure pop for then people.

  2. Lagwagon: Razor Burn

    Growing one’s beard out to mourn a break-up isn’t a bad idea.

  3. B-Movie: Nowhere Girl

Forgotten early 80’s synth pop. Except, I never forgot.

  4. NOFX: Creeping Out Sara

Fat Mike attempts to pick up a tried and true lesbian. And tries all the wrong moves.

  5. The Carrie Nations: Look On Up At The Bottom

Fictitious movie band with a “groovy” sound sets the stage for Josie And The Pussycats.

  6. Thin Lizzy: Cowboy Song

Epic, as only an Irish kid dreaming of the open plains could dream.

  7. Spizzenergi: Where’s Captain Kirk

One day, William Shatner will depart for the cosmic rainbow bridge. On that day, we shall all mourn.

  8. Slayer: Guilty Of Being White

As supposed Satanists cover a straight edge song, take a step and miss the whole first rung.

  9. *Dinosaur Jr.: Tarpit

    Aptly named.

  10. Johnny Cash: The Mercy Seat

One would think that Nick Cave would trade fates with The Man In Black if the lure was to have sung this as well as Cash did.
