1979 singles

Feeling nostalgic for 1979 (just had my high school reunion) had me thinking of what I liked back then. I confined my choices to singles and stuff that came out before I went to college that September and had my musical horizons vastly expanded.

  1. “Hey Hey My My (Into the Black)/My My Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)” – Neil Young and Crazy Horse

  2. “Hot Stuff” – Donna Summer

  3. “Heart of Glass” – Blondie

  4. “Dancing Barefoot” – Patti Smith Group

  5. “I Want You to Want Me” – Cheap Trick (live)

  6. “Boogie Wonderland” – Earth Wind & Fire with the Emotions

  7. “Tusk” – Fleetwood Mac

  8. “What a Fool Believes” – Doobie Brothers

  9. “Local Girls” – Graham Parker & the Rumour

  10. “Is She Really Going Out with Him?” – Joe Jackson
