CADET A is the not-quite-acoustic, psychedelic side project of United Ghosts’ Axel Ray Steuerwald.
The first single “Come See Me,” sends the listener on a fuzzy, tripped-out space pop ride, stripping back the sound while using all the touchstones of Ray’s past work —psychedelia, layered guitars, Paisley Underground, touches of electronica, Girl Group heartbreak—plus a healthy helping of glockenspiel.
“Come See Me” made its radio debut on BBC6 music’s Steve Lamacq show and was officially released on February 25th.
An album is coming very soon via UK artist DU.BLONDE”S label DAEMON TV, and 2022 US dates are lining up, as well as a UK/EU tour in the summer.
Big Takeover is pleased to host the trippy music video for the melodic single “Come See Me” today.
In the video CADET A journeys from the Mojave desert into a grimy, hazy LA and meets a flower-eating, musical alien along the way. Just your normal, everyday occurrences, right?
The video is filled with desert sand and city grit, with the Mojave’s arid sands and searing blue skies providing a sharp contrast to the concrete ‘n’ metal milieu of the city.
CADET A carries his battered guitar case through the different landscapes as the tuneful power-pop/rock track plays. He crosses paths with a rad alien girl and they jam together, with CADET A on guitar and the alien on tambourine…
