Los Angeles-based Frieda’s Roses are proud to announce the video “Jessica Triangle” from their upcoming album of the same name and The Big Takeover is equally proud to be hosting the video premiere for the track.

Frieda’s Roses are a young rock trio consisting of Greta Fannin on guitar and drums, Poppy Lang on vocals, ukulele and drums, and Ava Miller on vocals and guitar.

It isn’t often that 13-15 year-olds write so eloquently about subjects ranging from heavy to carefree, but Frieda’s Roses manage to triumph with their remarkable songs. They were work-shopped in a songwriting class called Song Along with Azalia Snail and Dan West.

Blending Beatles-inspired melodious pop, energetic surf-like guitar riffs, and well-crafted, thoughtful lyrics, Frieda’s Roses have created timeless classics which will be on full display when their album Jessica Triangle releases this summer.

Jessica’s Triangel was produced by Dan West (LoveyDove, d’Animal, The Sidewalk Society) at Lang House/Victory Way studios.

The song is an up-tempo romp filled with briskly grinding guitars, a jumpy drum beat, percussive tambourine shimmer, and always-running vocals that propel forward in a sprightly, spirited sprint.

The delightful video footage goes hand-in-hand (or foot-for-foot?!) with the restless sonics. It stars Ava Miller who does a casually mad dash through (sub)urban streets. The quickly, but smoothly edited series of clips are timed just right to the bouncy ‘n’ brief chorus section.

The band members explain the meaning behind the song’s title, as well as details about the video shoot:

“‘Jessica Triangle’ is a piece of land that had remained neglected, where wild weeds grew, and litter congregated until the neighbors decided to take matters into their own hands, fortifying it into what is now a lovely, green space full of flowers and butterflies.”

“This video was shot on the streets of Highland Park and Mt. Washington. All these streets lead to Jessica Triangle, in a very zig-zaggy way. Our colorful neighborhoods highlight the history and culture surrounding us, and we feel proud to feature them in this video.”

Look out world! The Album Release Party will be held at The Hi Hat on June 30th.
