Tulsa, Oklahoma three-piece The Bourgeois are set to release An Infinite Void EP that showcases a more evolved sound. A departure from their signature work, the group investigates another subset of their artistry. Beginning in a dizzying fury of percussion, the resounding reverb pushes listeners into a psychedelic gaze into the abyss.
The EP’s songs are heightened by a hypnotizing composition of ethereal melodies and tranquil lyricism. They delve into being bound by a catacomb of numbness, acquiring freedom in altered realities shaped by the subconscious. It’s a reaction to the many curveballs life throws, The Bourgeois have retreated to their happy place.
It’s an impressive release to start the new year, and only more great things can be expected next from this trio.
In the summer of 2016, The Bourgeois released the Designer Genes EP on Noise Trade where it was promptly downloaded over 1000 times in its first week. The band followed that up by supporting bands like Eagles of Death Metal and Electric Six on their respective tours and landing enthusiastic features in Alternative Press, Nerdist, and PopMatters among others.
The Bourgeois have exploded on the European music-streaming service Jamendo where the song “Perverting the American Dream” has racked up over 300,000 plays and 170,000 downloads alone. The rest of the world can’t be far behind.
