Kate Renegade is back with their latest album, New Unquiet Life, aptly named for an assortment of tracks that are outspoken and brimming with character. Recorded by the legendary Steve Albini at Electrical Audio (Nirvana, PJ Harvey), the album stands out by having a distinct cutting edge while also reminding us of the golden age of recording.
New Unquiet Life starts out strong with “Untitled,” a song that perfectly encapsulates the Chicago band’s individual brand of rock ‘n’ roll, featuring colorful, melodic washes of electric guitar and an authentic, rambunctious to reflective sound that’s rare to find.
The LP covers a wide range of thought-provoking indie rock, spanning from the spunky, fun “Bow & Arrow” to the mellow, easy-on-the-ears,“Me to You,” and the beautifully executed “Theories of Forgetting.”
Take a listen to Kate Renegade’s New Unquiet Life for a shimmer of emotion and a punch nostalgia.
