That Petrol Emotion this Saturday in Brooklyn!
Hey all, just a reminder than England’s (by way of Ireland and Seattle) That Petrol Emotion is playing their only U.S. show for the foreseeable future this Saturday December 12, at Bell House in Brooklyn (on 7th St. just off 2nd Ave. in Gowanus, near the 4th Ave stop on the F and V or the 9th St. stop on the R), their first New York show of any kind since the early 1990s. The group, which included two ex-*Undertones* (the O’Neill brothers, Sean and Damian, the latter of whom is still involved), reunited last year after being gone for 14 years, and even played SXSW this year to rave reviews. And as someone who loves, loves, loves both the Undertones and this great group’s terrific 1986 debut LP Manic Pop Thrill, you can bet you will see me there.
Here’s a good lookback interview/article on them if you need to know more:
http://www.state.ie/2009/07/oxegen-09/that-petrol-emotion/
and here’s a review of one of their recent live gigs with seven or eight totally great action live shots of them:

They’re sure looking young for a band formed 25 years ago. It will be good to see them again after so long!
