With their dials firmly set to the epic and transcendent, Nottingham, England’s When The Sun Hits offers up their latest, a six-track EP of big wide open guitarscapes, big vocals, and even bigger choruses.

Immersed Within Your Eyes is a punchy, poppy record which sounds like it could see into the future, and it sounds like now is the perfect time for this project to be played out.

The guitars of McCleary and Moore offer sweeping reverb and delay drenched sounds, together they create an attacking wall of sound, built brick by brick through distortion and chorus, creating a soundscape that ascends higher and higher until the ceilings are flooded. The EP’s foundation and pop hooks stem from the solid dynamic of Davidson and Minton on bass and drums, respectively. Orton’s vocal is the instrument that holds the band together. His grittiness and power, strengthened by an attitude that will never surrender is the linchpin to the project.

The Big Takeover premieres “Lie To Me”, a bass- and drums-driven slow-builder that grandly expands with amorphous ascending guitar ambience and brightly airy synths diffusion.

The band members explain the importance of the lyrics, revealing, ““Lie To Me” is strength and awakening. It’s growth and wisdom. It’s finally dropping your guard because all along you were bulletproof.”
