NYC singer songwriter Nescora plays an unpretentious blend of folk rock with sweet hints of blues and country, gleaned from a lifetime of travel. It’s a mellow gold mix of acoustic pop, reminiscent of latter-day Tom Petty while channeling the wild lyrical symbolism of freak-folk connoisseurs such as Father John Misty.
The Big Takeover premieres Nescora’s new track “Rescue”, the lead-off single from his forthcoming album, Some Place Some Where, out July 21st. It’s a fast-paced honky tonk-tinged confessional that falls somewhere between the biting edge of Dylan’s “Positively 4th Street” and the bright Western pop used in the Django Unchained soundtrack.
Nescora is playing at Rockwood Music Hall this coming Father’s Day, June 18th, at 5pm.
