The chick is back! They grow up so fast. “Bad Luck Baby (Electric)” is the fifth and final installment from a rare, largely spontaneous session surrounding a selection of Robert Park‘s songs in Portland, Oregon, in collaboration with Chris Newman and engineer Mike Lastra in 2012.
Park, better known as a Korean human rights activist, is slowly working on a debut LP. His vision for the tracks (rudimentary sketches of which can be heard at Malheur VOL’s Bandcamp page) is “meticulous and very involved; when recorded properly the music may draw parallels with artistry branching from the post-rock and modern classical genres.” That’s a far cry from this early demo recording, but we think you’ll agree it has its own charm.
