“Sons and Daughters” is a track written years ago that seemed timely to release on Nurser. It pushes back on conservative dogma and attacks on LGBTQ+ and marginalized communities. The song tries to dismantle the hypocrisy of those who police others’ lives and justify their prejudice through religion or tradition. Cameron Keiber wanted to expose the absurdity of caring about how others live their lives while highlighting the damage it does.

The “Sons and Daughters” video is filled with subtle symbolism and commentary that is meant to reflect both the indie music landscape as well as our current cultural climate under an authoritarian administration. Purposefully sparse and colorful and decidedly Lynchian.

Nurser is the first proper solo album by Cameron Keiber in his 30 plus year career. He previously led Boston MA’s noise pop outfit The Beatings and currently fronts Boston/NY indie rock band Eldridge Rodriguez. He also runs the indie label Midriff Records with Clayton Keiber out of Boston and Brooklyn.

“Sons and Daughters” is the second single from the album Nurser, released in March via Midriff Records. It was directed by Patrick Ruth and Cameron Keiber, edited by Patrick Breen and shot at Redsky Studios in Allston, MA.
